Animes being changed into live action films. What does everyone thing about it
The hot topic of Hollywood is anime. We all know that Speed Racer is about to hit theatres but that is just the first of many. Akira is being produced and stared in by Leonardo Dicaprio, Ghost in the Shell is being done by Steven Spielberg, and Avatar The Last Air Bender by M. Night Shyamalan.
I think Akira is going to be hard to create a live action of. Those that have seen it know what I'm talking about. It might take away from the overall production.
Never been a fan of Ghost in the Shell so can't comment on it much but hopfully Spielberg doesn't make the same mistakes he did in AI.
Shyamaln doesn't seem like the guy for Avatar. He is also hit or miss with his movies, so lets hope he hits this time.

But in the end, a cardboard box is only made of paper. Handle it with care or it won't be of much use to you.
Don't think of it as just another box. Treat it with love... Don't be rough. Okay?"

Anime in Hollywood
I think Anime doesn't really have a place as live action movies. I don't think they could do a decent enough job with anime such as Akira or Ghost in the Shell, but Avatar might be conceivable however Shyamalan isn't really the right guy to do Avatar.
There's also the DBZ movie in the works and I'm intrigued to see how it'll turn out. If the movie industry can get it right then I'm sure we'll see a whole lot more anime turned into live action movies. BUT regardless I think anime should stay animated and not be turned into live action.

Its kind of funny but the only way for them to really bring justice to any of the awesome animes in a real life movie is to use lot of CGI and animate several parts, so its almost like theyre just reanimating the entire thing. I think they should just leave a good thing alone, before they mess up the image of something great!

agree
I would have to agree with Cyberobtix. Usually when Hollywood tries to bring anything from japan over it usually ends up being bad. You might have to same sorry but the actors or the changing of certain things in the movie usually end up bad.
